Missing Keys to Leader Effectiveness

The Hero's Journey

Toward ClearChannel Integral Leadership

April 12-13, 2019

=> You WANT to be a trusted & effective leader.

=> You WANT to be authentic & to walk your talk.

=> You WANT to inspire & motivate others to succeed with the mission.

=> You WANT to make integrity profitable.

=> And you WANT to do all this without having to sacrifice

your personal wellbeing, life balance, or cherished relationships.

What Interferes With Getting What You Want

  • Over-Relying on Mindset

Although mindset is crucial, all the positive thinking in the world, by itself, won’t get you to the level of leadership you want... and neither will good intentions or being spiritual. Placing sweet smelling affirmations on top of unresolved baggage only creates sweet smelling baggage.

  • Over-Relying on Skills

All the tips, hacks, and techniques in the world, by themselves, won’t get you to the level of leadership you want... and neither will being charismatic, persuasive or wielding other forms of power. Learning new leadership tricks doesn’t remove the harm that's created by the unresolved baggage that virtually all leaders carry.

  • Sidestepping the Inner Work

Like it or not, leaders lead at the level of their baggage, blocks, limiting beliefs, and other self-development limitations, despite their highest intentions. This inconvenient truth has veto power over the best leadership mindsets and skillsets available. Examples of this abound from world leaders to national leaders to military leaders to local leaders to community organizations, from to CEOs and nonprofit Executive Directors, and from healthcare organizations to religious organizations and educational institutions. No segment of society is exempt from impaired leadership. You undoubtedly know your share of examples of leaders inadvertently sabotaging their effectiveness despite their higher intentions.

What Leaders Are Missing...

  • The Need for a Psychospiritually Sound Development Framework

Conventional leader development programs focus on mindsets, skillsets and techniques more than on building the foundation that makes it possible for current and aspiring leaders to consistently use those skills and techniques in good ways: becoming a clear channel -- see below.

  • The Need for a "ClearChannel" Foundation

Typical leader development resources continue to focus mainly on mindsets & skillsets and/or they only tackle small slices of the self-development that today’s and tomorrow’s leadership requires. The overlooked leadership foundation is becoming a "clear channel:" clearing out your baggage, blocks, and limiting beliefs (psychologically referred to as "shadow") so you can use your leadership skills to create magic instead of unintended damage.

  • The Need For Streamlined Clearing of Blocks & Limiting Beliefs

Less conventional programs focus on presencing and positive thinking and spiritual attitudes more than on removing the blocks that prevent leaders from embodying these laudable practices. Attempting to willpower past baggage merely hides it in the false hope that it won't erupt again at a later time.

  • The Need for a Strategic Integrated Leader Development Roadmap

Conventional or unconventional, these programs tend to slap together a bunch of ingredients and hope for the best, rather than operate from a comprehensive integral leader development blueprint and roadmap. Throwing spaghetti against the wall to see what sticks is an inefficient leader development strategy.

The Hero's Journey Toward ClearChannel Integral Leadership

The “Hero’s Journey” is a time-honored path of self-development that elevates our positive impact in the world. This is the path that’s portrayed in classic literature and movies like Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey, Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, and Lucas’s Star Wars, to name just a few, and was talked about in depth by Joseph Campbell. The architecture of the Hero's Journey provides an unparalleled path to elevating leadership.

Phases of The Hero's Journey Toward ClearChannel Integral Leadership

PHASE I: The Call

PHASE II: The Separation

PHASE III: The Descent & Ordeals

PHASE IV: The Reintegration

PHASE V: The Return

As you can see, The Hero’s Journey Toward ClearChannel Integral Leadership is not for looky-loo wanna-be leaders. It’s not for the faint-of-heart who are afraid to step into their power or afraid to lose control. It’s not for leaders looking to sidestep the real work of becoming an elevated leader. It’s for current & aspiring leaders whose passion is driven by purpose and integrity, and who have the courage to go where few leaders dare to go in order to achieve success that few leaders know how to catalyze.

Your Hero's Journey Toward ClearChannel Integral Leadership fills in your missing foundations of elevated integral leadership and places your self-development in service to your dreams as a leader. You get to take your journey through the programs that the CIHS Center for Integral Leadership offers... beginning with this groundbreaking 2-day adventure that: 1) gives you a map for your journey; 2) provides a framework for you to travel it; and 3) experientially walks you through it, each step of the way.
